This bulletin supercedes TSB-05-42A-006, TSB-06-42A-007, and TSB-10-42A-008, to add applicability to all models, and updated paint preparation instructions. Revisions are not indicated as the entire TSB has been updated. |
When ordering replacement bumper fascias and other plastic body parts for any vehicle, you may receive unprimed plastic parts. Newer models may have painted parts in stock, these can be identified by two letters after the part number, indicating the color code (for Diamante, there is one letter). The unprimed bumper fascias and plastic body parts require special preparation prior to priming and painting. MMNA recommends using the PPG products (or their equivalent) listed in the Paint Preparation Instructions in this TSB.
All models with unprimed replacement bumper fascias and/or plastic body parts.
This TSB provides information only.
Follow the “Important Instructions for Paint Preparation of Bumper Fascias and Plastic Body Parts” included in this Technical Service Bulletin. These instructions will also be available on the MDL under service / service tech resources / Worksheets, Questionnaires, Job Aids / Job Aids.
If you have any questions or concerns about these procedures, please contact your local PPG representative or paint supplier.
